Launching in the Fall of 2010 Sound of the Muse Records is Canada's newest independent record label devoted to artist development,
state of the art production and the passionate promotion of artists in central Canada. With studios in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal,
and state of the art mobile facilities traveling in between, Sound of the Muse is dedicated to the rich diversity of music that can
be found in and around the major Canadian markets in which it works.
In the spring of 2011 Sound of the Muse will launch its first roster of artists with the release of a number of new records that
demonstrate the rich artistic tradition of Canadian music.
Inspiring the independent artist with the right tools
It's fitting when we set out to start a new kind of record company designed specifically for independent artists;
we were moved by the idea of the mystical muses of ancient Greece. After all, music and inspiration work together.
In fact the original source of the word music meant "sound of the muse."
It's the inspirational muse that drives the creative process of music. It should also drive the production,
presentation and marketing of music. That's why it's the mission of Sound of the Muse to inspire the singers,
musicians, songwriters and performing arts organizations that we work with to reach their full potential in all
aspects of their presentation. Through an extensive array of state of the art services and resources, Sound of
the Muse works closely with our artists to help them apply the right tools to engage a changing and
crowded music marketplace.
