PRODUCERS
THE PRODUCER TEAM OF TRIESTE AND VALERIANI
The Sound of the Muse Records producer team of Trieste and Valeriani have created an artistic and technical partnership
focused on cultivating talent and releasing records for Canada's new artists.
Trieste and Valeriani have refined their music composition, arrangement and production experience into an artistic, performance and recording
approach that has proven ideal for new and emerging artists. Prior to their partnership at Sound of the Muse, Trieste
and Valeriani have amassed 25 years of diverse experience in the music industry.
Trieste Timothy Feher
Trieste has
been a composer, musician, producer, and arts promotion specialist since the early 1980's. Following a degree in
Media Communications/Radio and Television Production at Ryerson University, Trieste served as the Production Coordinator for
the Ontario Place Forum. Trieste staged concerts for a great number of international performers including, Harry Chapin,
Jose Feliciano, John Prine, Dr. Hook, and Bruce Cockburn.
Trieste was the founder and Director for the Toronto Songwriters Workshop during the 1980's and early 90's, while also
performing in Toronto as a singer songwriter and writing theme music for local television and radio. Trieste will be
re-launching the popular Songwriters Workshop format in Ottawa in the Fall of 2010. A prolific songwriter and arranger
Trieste has performed with and composed for a number of Canadian indie recording projects. He is producing and writing
music for a new collaborative project that will be released on Sound of the Muse Records later this year.
During the past 5 years Trieste has also dedicated himself to being a Producer for young and emerging artists. Specializing
in artist development and songwriting composition and arrangement he has developed a comprehensive and disciplined process
to help musicians achieve their full potential in performance and recording. As Producer and Creative Director for Sound
of the Muse Records, Trieste also applies his talents to producing the new artists who will be released on the record
label's roster in 2011.
Bruce "Bear" Valeriani
Bruce has amassed a wealth of digital technology and media production experience from years in the Information Technology sector,
while at the same time, setting-up a project studio for his personal use. He then began honing his recording skills by producing
recordings for himself and clients on an informal basis throughout the 80's and 90's.
During his tech days he also spent years crafting his love for music as a session guitar player for a number of musical recording
projects. A soulful blues and rock musician, Valeriani also refined his chops in a number of local Ottawa bands, most notably with
the popular R&B band - BlueZ'inc.
In November 1999, he started Blue Bear Sound - a fully-equipped, professional recording facility providing full-service
audio/video/multimedia production. In addition to sound engineering and consulting at Blue Bear Sound, Bruce also produced a
number of local Ottawa bands, including BlueZinc's self-titled debut CD before leaving the band in early 2003 to focus on
the studio operations.
In mid-2003, Bruce expanded the Blue Bear Sound facilities with a studio design by respected Australian studio designer - John-Sayers -
the result of which was a facility considered to be one of Canada's foremost state-of-the-art independent recording studios, with clients
all across North America and Europe.
A member of the Audio Engineering Society, Valeriani has since produced and recorded hundreds of artists and is on his way
towards well-deserved industry recognition as one of Canada's most gifted mix engineers. As his producer-partner Trieste often says,
"Bruce has the ears of the muse. He cultivates the studio sound of music like a composer."
In 2010 Blue Bear Sound joined Sound of the Muse Records as its Ottawa recording facility, and Bruce Valeriani is the Director of Production
for the new independent label.
