You'll experience the amazing difference that a preparatory coaching program can make to your songs and to your performance
when you team up with a producer, a composer and music arranger, a vocal coach, and instrument coach. The idea is to help
you find the best version of your song before you go into the studio. Music industry coaching like this is hard to find.
At Sound of the Muse Records it's our passion to help artists reach their full potential. Our artist development programs
and services are available at extremely cost effective packages for as little as $40 per hour.
1. Singer-Songwriters
Sound of the Muse will provide a Producer, a Composer/Arranger, and a Vocal Coach to assist with the refinement of songwriting
technique, melody, arrangements, lyric composition and vocal performance. The program includes progressive studio demo recording
and evaluation to help the artist achieve their potential. Assistance is also provided for self or industry publishing, and
registration with SOCAN and other songwriter agents. The program can also provide assistance with the recruitment of backing musicians
and can supply backing music tracks. The program supports the artist in preparation for the recording of a full length professional
studio or live CD album or EP.
2. Ottawa and Toronto Songwriters Workshop
Designed to assist songwriters with and without experience, the Songwriters Workshop is a supportive environment conducted by a
Producer/Composer over 10 weeks. Up to 6 participants meet for 2 hours weekly (private sessions are also available) and are led
through a unique deconstruction of songwriting. You'll investigate technique, form, hooks, melody, lyrical poetry and depth.
You'll study the techniques of other songwriters and develop critical evaluation skills to enhance your own songs and your own
unique style. The Workshop is ideal for songwriters who are working on current songs, and are looking for an environment to develop
new ideas and receive supportive and professional feedback. The weekly Songwriters Workshops are held at Sound of The Muse Records
recording studios in both Ottawa and Toronto.
3. Singers / Musicians / Bands
The program provides a Producer/ Song Arranger/Vocal Coach / and Instrument Coach to assist artists with the finer points of
performance style related to their genre of music. Singers and musicians will receive "master class" coaching in dynamics and
control, phrasing, ornamentation, and stage presentation. The program includes progressive studio recording to help artists
master their individual sound and prepare for recording. The Producer will also assist with song selection, arrangements, song
licensing, soliciting of original compositions, and the recruitment of musicians or supply of backing tracks. The program can
lead toward the recording of a professional studio album or Demo EP designed as part of a marketing package for the artist.
4. Glee Ottawa: The Pop Star Recording Experience
Designed for singers who pass an audition, Glee Ottawa is searching for promising vocalists who will become part of one of
five vocal groups who will record the first Glee Ottawa CD. The record will be produced at Blue Bear Sound, our state of the
art recording studio in Ottawa and will be released on Sound of the Muse Records in 2011. The experience includes intensive
vocal rehearsals with a pop vocal coach, challenging pop vocal arrangements and harmonies for hits from the 1960's to 1990's
(similar to the Glee TV show.) Singers will appear on the website and also appear in a promotional music video documentary.
