ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Sound of the Muse artist development programs are designed to serve musicians, singers and songwriters with differing levels of
expertise and experience. Artists are assigned to work one-on-one with a Producer, and a vocal or instrument coach.
We work at your pace and towards your goals. Many of the programs require an audition to evaluate whether we can make a useful
contribution to your music goals.
Hourly fees for Sound of the Muse Artist Development programs start at just $45.
1. Song Development and Song Writing Studio Workshops
Used by many singer-songwriters and bands to work up new songs or arrange material before recording studio sessions, these workshops have a consistent track record of helping songwriters enhance song structure, arrangement, melody, lyric, instrumentation, and that elusive hook. Conducted by our Producer, Trieste in our 16 track demo recording facilities in both West Ottawa, and in East Toronto, the workshops are a touchstone for serious musicians who want to develop their original songs to their full potential. Workshops are also attended by our Vocal Producer who provides coaching for the song's vocal delivery, phrasing , ornamentation and harmony arrangements.
2. Master Class Vocal Coaching
Conducted by Sound of the Muse Vocal Producer, Shann Bailey, these sessions are designed to help singers find the magic to master
the finer points of vocal delivery in the pop, rock, jazz, folk and blues genres. Developed by Trieste and Shann after years of
producing singers in the recording studio, the Master Class technique addresses the whole singer; something we call the
"BodyVoice" which is about bringing all your resources to vocal delivery: intention, expression, ornamentation, body positioning
and movement, and a full range of vocal tools and techniques appropriate to your music genre. You'll work one-on one with our
Vocal Producer in our Artist Development Studio in West Ottawa. Shann can also be booked to attend your studio recording session
as your Vocal Producer.
3. Band and Instrument Coaching
Good musicians are always looking for ways to learn from others. Bands are often looking for ways to improve the collaborative arrangement of their instruments. Novice musicians are looking for more efficient ways to learn their instrument. Our development programs for musicians strive to fill all these needs. You'll work one-on-one with an instrument coach or a Producer/Arranger in our rehearsal space. Or we'll come to yours.
4. Pop Singer Recording Program- Glee Ottawa
Designed for young singers who pass an audition, Glee Ottawa/Glee Toronto searches for promising young vocalists to record cover versions of well know pop classics and appear on our CD "Singles" series. Young singers are recruited to small ensemble vocal groups who work with Sound of the Muse Producers in our recording studios and also appear in their own music video. The experience includes intensive vocal rehearsals with a pop vocal coach to learn challenging pop vocal arrangements and harmonies. It's an amazing opportunity for the next generation of singers.
